DOT

An interest in geometric shapes and the optical movement that results from scale and colour choices inspired my new Dot design.

When the stripes conceal the circles they appear to group closer together optically. A uniform strip of circles down edge of the scarf emphasises this effect.

PATCH WOOL

The PATCH collection is now available in wool. The fabric is 60% wool and 40% silk

PATCH

Inspiration from an exhibition of recycled Japanese objects at SOAS inspired this small collection. The shapes are assembled randomly in different scale and textures on large silk scarves. More in my Blog post..

DYNAMIC DOTS

Bright summer colours on rich silk twill inspired these new designs which contrast order and disorder by using strong painterly strokes to reveal and conceal organised dots.

SPRING COLLECTION

My new Spring neck scarves are inspired by juxtaposing shape, line and colour. The translucency of the fine wool material gives a depth and intensity to the tones when the scarf is folded .

My second small collection of limited edition scarves is in part inspired by a love of Memphis Design. Memphis was the name of an Italian Design Movement in the 1980’s. It was known for its bold geometric prints in garish colours which spanned everything from architecture to electrical goods to homeware.

My scarves have a more muted colour palette but I have been influenced by the Memphis strong geometric design .’

This first collection of scarves was inspired by the work of a favourite artist Sophie Tauber-Arp. She is one of a few women artists and designers who are now being fully recognised for the contribution they made in their time.

SILK

Our silk scarves are made from lightweight 100% silk Crêpe De Chine.

As the name suggests Crêpe De Chine originated in France although it is thought it dates back to China in the middle ages where it was considered the Imperial families exclusive right to use it.

We selected Crêpe De Chine for its subtle three dimensional texture and unique rippling quality when draped.

Crêpe De Chine is a very durable fabric. The silk fibres are very tightly twisted resulting in a strong fabric with a high resistance to wrinkling.

Classed as a breathable fabric, Crêpe De Chine is a luxurious and cool fabric for the warmer months.

WOOL

Our wool scarf collection is printed on Wool Fino.

Wool Fino is a finely woven fabric using entirely 100% biodegradable fine gauge Merino wool yarn.

The fabric is produced and woven in Italy and like all our scarf range, printed and made in the UK.

There is a luxurious quality to this fabric, which expertly combines softness with warmth and its lightweight quality makes it an ideal scarf to be worn indoors and out.
